JSON-LD Generator

Build Article or FAQPage JSON-LD. Page tags stay on meta tags

What this page does

A page can describe itself as an Article or a list of questions. This page writes that JSON-LD inside a script tag. Title and card tags stay on meta tags.

How to use it

  1. Type is Article or FAQPage. Article shows Headline, Description, Author, Date published, Image URL and Page URL.
  2. Convert runs once. Show Example sets Type to Article, Headline to Ada Lovelace notes, Description to Short notes on the analytical engine., Author to Ada Lovelace, Date published to 2026-01-01, Image URL to https://example.com/ada.jpg and Page URL to https://example.com/ada.
  3. The JSON uses @context https://schema.org and @type Article. headline is Ada Lovelace notes. author is a Person named Ada Lovelace. datePublished is 2026-01-01. image is the jpg URL. mainEntityOfPage is https://example.com/ada. The whole value sits in a script tag of type application/ld+json.
  4. Clear All empties the fields, sets Type back to Article and clears the result. Copy Result copies the script.

Rules and edges

Article requires a headline. Empty description, author, date, image and page URL are left out. FAQPage hides the article fields. Separate pairs with a blank line, put the question on the first line and the answer on the following lines. A question with no answer stops with an error. The type names Article, FAQPage, Person, Question and Answer stay as written.

Where people use it

  • Adding an Article block for a notes page.
  • Checking the author object before pasting the script.
  • Drafting two FAQ pairs separated by a blank line.

Questions

Does Show Example fill the FAQ?

No. It fills the Article fields and leaves the question box empty.

Why is the page URL not the headline?

The page URL is written as mainEntityOfPage. The headline is the title text.
